Anyone Remember the old days?

I sure do remember the old days of Miller. In particular, I recall the thrill, as a kid, of being able to go to the Jack Spratt's ice cream parlor.

In high school, there were also the Chapel of the Dunes dances on weekends.

For a comprehensive look at the region; past, present and future, check out the offerings of Dave's Den

I sure do remember those Wirt Letter Jackets. The coolest, and I remember the Pizza place on Lake Street and the library (where I always told me parents I was going)
So many good memories...........

Oh yeah I remember those.

The A&W was right next to my house. I use to live right next Murphy's Saloon and right next to Olsen Cadillac, so A&W was right there.

Every year the owners of A&W would open up the first day of spring, March 21, and tell me that they were opening up just for my birthday (March 22), and give me a free Root beer float! They were great people.

As for John's Radio & TV - that was my Uncle John and Aunt Mary that owned it. They were just awesome people. Every year Uncle John used to light up Miller with lights for Christmas like it was going out of style.

I sure do miss those days.

Wow what a great image! I remember John's Radio and Television like it was last week. As a young teen I bought my first stereo there, an RCA system with a turntable, AM/FM, and two speakers. I did not know your aunt and uncle well, Tim, but they were very nice to me. Your aunt told me she was proud of me for being able to buy it myself with my "paper-route" money, earned from the Gary Post Tribune.
